Swap blocks can be annoying

Many years ago, I was at a retreat and I won some blocks that we made and names were drawn for winners.  It must have been at least 8 years ago, maybe longer?  It was a retreat with Kasey in Sechelt and I think it was her last retreat in that location?

Anyway, not all the blocks were the correct size, some were too small by almost ½".

I bought a jelly roll of brown fabrics and am going to use those to add a border around each block and will then trim them all to the same size.  This should make a nice Quilt of Valour and be very masculine with all the dark and brown fabrics.

Last summer I began making some blocks from dark and light strips and today I finished making the blocks and figured out a layout.  This is waiting to have the blocks joined and then it will travel north to my summer home for quilting.

My sewing room is a mess.  This is going to be a busy week with a number of social events (end of the season coming up) as well as my final week of league tennis games.  Time to start tidying and cleaning and organizing and getting everything stored for the summer.  And... worst of all, packing and trying to keep suitcases under the 30 lb. limit.  UGH
