I bought a kit in 2008 for this Canadiana Thimbleberries kit and today, I added the final borders and am ready to take it back home in April and get it quilted so I can cross one more UFO off my list.

Softball fundraiser
We helped to prepare and serve over 1000 hamburgers as a fundraiser for my dh's softball group here in the park last Thursday. Of course, I needed an apron!
One more blue and white quilt top put together. This one still needs a red accent and a border but I think I have appropriate fabric in my stash at home so will wait until April to finish this. I know my Quilts of Valour cupboard only has one quilt in it so I need to get busy and get some tops made, ready to layer and quilt in the spring. It is such a worthy cause.
We had visitors for a few days and unlucky me has had the miserable stomach 'flu' and am still not back to having fun yet!
But tonight it was hockey night in Canada and since the Canucks were playing, I left my dh to his game and I pulled out a container of 2½" strips that were cut intending to make a few of the jelly roll race quilts (also called 1600" quilts). I saw this idea earlier this week, using strips to create bordered blocks and liked it so I started cutting and sewing and pressing. So far I have 12 blocks made. They finish at 8" so I probably should make 44 more for a total of 56. I have lots of strips and will still have enough to use them for my original intention. Another idea for making a Quilt of Valour.
Hmmm - just what I needed another project started while others are still on the design wall.

Some accomplishments -
I have finally completed my table toppers and table runner that I began last December. This project uses striped fabrics and a 60ยบ ruler.
I have a quilt top completed using the 9 patches that I swapped with the quilters here in my village for the last year. Have been making hourglass blocks for all of January to use for the alternate blocks. This is ready for me to layer and quilt and quite possibly, donate.
I also managed to get a top sewn together using blocks from a swap with internet quilting friends and this will be another QOV.
And, for Valentine's day, I have a heart wall hanging that I made using the Let's Twist ruler.
One of my next projects will be making maple leaf blocks for a Quilt of Valour. This is one I started last summer and didn't get enough made to complete a quilt top so time to make a bunch of red and white hsts.
A few things off my design wall and more added! I have another blue and white block quilt to put together and then they will be ready to take home for summer quilting.

Urban Neighbourhood
Welcome to my neighbourhood. The top is completed and I think it will head north with me in April so I can quilt it there? Just thinkin' about it....
I managed to make six pillowcases for Valentine's Day and am using two on our bed and mailed the others off to two of my grandchildren, a daughter and a niece. Watch for a surprise in your mailbox.

Two wallhangings finished
I have finished two of my wallhangings - a little late for the January one but right on time for February!
These are from the book "Count on It".
February will get hung tomorrow to add a bit of colour to my white walls.
I guess I am either late for January or well organized and prepared for 2013?
